Dear supporter,

On October 2022 the Carolina Migrant Network (CMN) and our sister organization, Comunidad Colectiva (CC), have merged. This decision unifies the skills and knowledge developed through more than eight years of complimentary advocacy and legal services on behalf of local immigrant communities. At a time when xenophobia and hate are only growing, this merger will strengthen our capacity to meet the expanding needs of immigrants in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area, and beyond.

Thanks to Four Freedoms Foundation’s commitment to our work and vision, as well as our long-term funders, our new organization will be led through a co-director model.

  • Stefania joined the CMN team in a full-time capacity as our Co-Executive Director. She will build out our advocacy wing with a focus on ICE enforcement while also building a leadership pipeline for new organizers.

  • Becca will maintain and deepen her focus on strengthening our legal services for immigrants detained by ICE.

This is the beginning of a new journey, and we hope you are as excited as we are! As we continue to grow & evolve, we will continue to need your support and guidance. Specifically, we are looking for support to work with a Central American consultant for the next six months to build out the vision and reimagine programming. If you are interested or able to support this, please let us know.

On behalf of our organization, and Charlotte’s immigrant communities, thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Stefania & Becca
