Although the docuseries features the successful campaign to end the 287(g) in Mecklenburg County, sheriffs and ICE retaliated against these wins by pushing for statewide ICE enforcement collaboration. When that failed, additional sheriffs decided to enter into 287(g) partnerships called Warrant Service Officer Programs–a model piloted in Florida in 2019. The fight against ICE in North Carolina is not over. Comunidad Colectiva and the <\/span>Carolina Migrant Network<\/span><\/a> continue to fight ICE enforcement and provide pro-bono bond representation to immigrants detained by ICE in the Carolinas.<\/span>
